Mario Kart fans around the world can finally get their new racing fix with Mario Kart 8 available world wide today. Seeing as how Mario Kart and Smash Bros. have been a Nintendo home console staple since the Nintendo 64, I naturally picked it up as soon as I could. Mario Kart 8 features a new F-Zero-esque antigravity mechanic and 32 courses, 16 new and 16 remastered from old Mario Kart games.
“But wait, don’t you absolutely HATE picking up games at full price?”
Yes, yes I do, but feast your eyes on THIS bombshell.
If you register a copy of Mario Kart 8 between today and July 31st, you receive a free download code for either New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and Wii Party U! Mario Kart 8 AND Pikmin 3 for 60 bucks? HELL YEAH MOTHERFUCKER. I may hate full price games but I’m totally up for saving 30 bucks.
If you live in the UK, you get an even BETTER deal because your list of free games is tripled! UK racers get one of the following for free along with Mario Kart 8:
- Nintendo Land
- New Super Mario Bros. U
- Game and WArio
- Pikmin 3
- The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Sonic: Lost World
- Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games Sochi 2014
- Wii Party U
- Wonderful 101
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Fuck you guys for getting more games
Also, as a last note, Nintendo has made an unexpected partnership with Mercedes to bring a free DLC Mercedes kart to the Japanese version of Mario Kart 8 along with a rather odd TV commercial in an attempt to advertise one another. Check it out.
Improvement over the Super Mario Bros.: Yay or nay?
Anyways, time to get back to playing F-Zero: Mario Kart edition. I’ll try to review it after I get to play it some more. I messed my back up at work, so I’ve got nothing but time till I recover. Besides, SOMEONE’S got to Waluigi it up, amrite?
Keep ya paint purple guys. See ya online!
