“But wait, it’s still December 31st! And where the hell have you been?”
I got a new job! The model store gig didn’t work out due to being overstaffed, so I managed to score a new job as a security guard at a casino. It’s a lot of standing around and making sure people don’t drink themselves stupid(er) and I have to do overnight/graveyard shifts, but other than that it’s easy money. Hope it works out.
Anyways, 2015 is about to end and people are out having a good time. In retrospect, it was a big year for video games; big releases like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, TLoZ: Majora’s Mask 3D, Mortal Kombat X, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Fallout 4, and Bloodborne rocked gaming communities upon release, making for an explosive year.
With 2016 promising its own massive titles like Dragon’s Dogma HD on PC, Fire Emblem: Fates, Star Fox Zero, Final Fantasy XV, No Man’s Sky, Yooka-Laylee, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and hopefully Dark Souls 3 and Monster Hunter X, I’m anxious to see how these games will turn out and what kind of surprise masterpieces might reveal themselves.
If I had to ask myself what my Game of the Year would be, it really wouldn’t be a competition:
No surprises there. Shoutout to Xenoblade Chronicles X, which I recently cashed in a giftcard to buy (along with $35 eShop credit, totaling to $100.15, making me only pay 15 cents!) and have been playing in small bursts. So far it’s /much/ more fun than I expected it to be so expect my thoughts on it whenever I make more progress.
I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year’s. Let’s hope that 2016 will be a good year for games and make resolutions we’ll actually keep. My resolution is to not be broke, so hey, I’m already making progress.
For those keeping up with Fire Emblem: The Tides of War, the massive update I’ve been promising will be released Friday, as I am still working on adding bookmarks to the pdf. Get HYPE
